(21 May 2020) The UK’s Health Secretary Matt Hancock said an antibody surveillance study has shown that around 17% of London and 5% of the rest of the country have had the coronavirus. The test was a small scale sample, and plans to increase the viral testing to larger groups are underway, Hancock announced on Thursday. The health secretary reports a 14% decrease of COVID-19 patients in hospitals since last week. He said that over 3 million people had been tested for virus, of which 250,908 tested positive. The death toll stands at 36,042, a rise of 338 since yesterday.
